There's a reason Democrats suck

Ok, so the article is from FOX news.  So the hell what?  This is exactly the reason why Democrats are the spawn of Satan (even though a lot of them don't believe in Heaven or Hell or God or Satan).  If there is one thing in this country you should have to show photo ID for, it is to be able to cast a vote to determine the leadership of this country.  Why doesn't old Bill Clinton and his idiot cronies just come out and say it?  Let's just let Mexico tell us who to put into office. Becasue that's exactly what I get out of this.  The GOP wants legislation to say you have to show a photo ID before you can vote.  You can't even buy a pack of cigarettes or a bottle of beer without proper ID, why the hell would you ever let someone vote without making sure they are eligable?  And how the hell could you compare legislation requiring EVERYONE (yes, including white people) to show proper photo ID to Jim Crow laws that guaranteed that minorities couldn't vote?  It's not like the GOP is saying minorities have to have a photo ID in order to vote, and then pass laws saying they're not eligable to get a photo ID.  What the hell is the Democrats' problem?  Just another example of how they only care about how many votes they can get instead of doing something that would actually be good about the country.  And this is exactly why I will only vote Republican or Independent because they are the only ones that give a damn about fixing anything.  Democrats care about getting into office, playing the race card, telling the populace that we're too stupid and incapable of taking care of ourselves, or having a sexual scandal while in office.  I hope someone reads this, and I hope it pisses you off.  Either me, or it, but something should piss someone off today.  Here's the article, a spade is a spade.

  1. Mike, are your in favor of having a waiting period to purchase a handgun?

  2. I am so disturbed by this. An 18 year old can't rent an R rated movie without ID but it isn't a requirement for voting? There are only two requirements for voting, being a legal registered resident of the place you are voting in, and being 18 years of age. Why isn't it required to provide proof of that when voting? More identification is required to make a political donation!
Voting in Montana I have always had to show photo ID, it never occured to me that it was any different in other states. This quote from the article:

"Former President Bill Clinton was the latest to weigh in Wednesday, accusing Republicans of trying to "disenfranchise" minority voters who would "tend to vote for Democrats.""

only exacerbates the issue. Democrats rely on votes from individuals who cannot provide state ID? Transients have state ID if only to qualify for help from local governments to get food or places to stay. They still would not be eligible to vote...

  3. This link brings up a map with color representations of state by state ID requirements

And while we're talking about voting laws:

the absentee ballots for deployed military caused a hubub but even the new act is insufficient. How many times has anyone sent an item to a deployed person and had it arrive within 45 days?

  4. Hey L.B., Good to hear from you. I actually have mixed feelings about a waiting period for purchasing a handgun. I am not at all opposed to the idea of checking to make sure an individual is legally able to purchase the firearm, it only takes about 30 seconds for the FFL to complete. Why should you have to wait any longer than that if you're legally able to make the purchase? And I for sure am not opposed to having to show a picture ID for it.

  5. and fred, 45 anything making it to a deployed soldier in 45 days is pretty impressive. Most times, the soldier is lucky if it ever arrives. Yeah, getting an absentee ballot in is almost impossible. I didn't make it last time.

  6. Ironically, many Democrats would fight for your right to call them the spawn of Satan. Perhaps they shouldn't. :) Also: The bill got passed and everything, but don't ignore the problems that the handicapped will have in getting that photo ID.

  7. It is very unlikely that many handicapped people lack a form of photo ID. It is required to have a prescription filled.

  8. Liz, I'm glad that some dems would fight for my right to call them the spawn of satan, (I've been called worse by many of them in the last 2 years, and I still fight for their right). And just what problems do you feel the handicapped will have in getting a photo ID? It doesn't have to be a drivers licence, just a government issued photo ID, which everyone should have anyway for identification purposes. It's a matter of filling out a form and staying still long enough for the photographer to take a picture. What exactly is the problem? The issue as I see it is not whether or not citizens of the country can get a photo ID, but whether or not the majority of the democratic voting populace will get off the couch long enough to get it done. Apparently the dems don't think they will since they're so against voters having to prove that they are who they claim to be. But please clarify the reason why voters should not be required to show ID, if there is a valid reason, then please tell me. If no one has one, then wtf?

  9. Photo ID is ok. But there's another issue here that is being ignored. Why are the Republicans suddenly so concerned with this issue? It has become a national push for them. Maine, which has few minorities, recently passed this law, to the dismay of many residents. No one had campaigned on this issue. Maine had two cases of voter fraud in 37 years of same day registration, and only one of those involved the same day issue. Photo id fine, but a long waiting period? Why? Look at the results of the last presidential election. It will tell you why. Young people and minorities voted overwhelmingly for Obama. The one group in Maine that voted heavily democratic were college students. Now, I'm not going to say anything about college students, (or military personnel of the same age) being procrastinators, but I will say that some young adults are. Also, some actually turn 18 in college. Not all of these have drivers licenses. In the past, in Wisc. and Maine, these students could use their student ID. NOT NOW! not good enough. Good enough in the Bar, not good enough in the voting registration place.

  10. By the way, Mike, I am a democrat (although I have voted for republicans whom I respected, and tend to be a bit independent when it comes to party loyalty) And I would also fight for your legal right to call me names. But I would never call you the spawn of Satan... Please!
